The one thing I remember well about growing up and looking at all those black and white photographs (dead age giveaway!) was that my (only) sister and I always wore the same dresses. Our two grandmas loved to sew us identical dresses (one of them was a highly-sought professional seamstress before she married my grandpa!) They also loved embroidery and they would sit for hours either in front of their very old sewing machines or on their favorite couches and just spend the entire day with their thimbles, needles and threads! (I always went for and played with their thimbles! LOL!) I remember having all my undies, hankies and towels monogramed too with delicate, embroidered letters all done painstakingly by hand… So you see, I just had to do The Sewing Room. Sewing was a passion both of them shared.
Scrapper4Life guessed The Sewing Room correctly. She’ll get the download link for the Granny’s Wall Flowers exclusive. Guess what the next room will be? All your previous guesses will count for the next room unless you post a new one. I won’t say if someone got it right already. I have started designing the FINAL room for My Granny’s Place (a place one of them loved dearly) I am also seriously considering adding another one because I know both of them would love to see me design the one I have in mind. What’s keeping me from going ahead and doing it is I’m afraid I won’t do it justice. It’s way too close to their hearts and mine. Just keep posting your guesses. One guess per person but feel free to change your mind anytime until the new set is uploaded. Post here if you’d like me to consider designing a room for My Granny’s Place. You just might have a better idea about it than I do.
Here is My Granny’s Sewing Room – the result of more than 30 hours of work (roughly 3 nights). (Both my grandmas loved books – hence it became the first room I designed.)
I confess, I get a kick out of reading the comments that you post and/or the emails that you send my way. (I’ve also added a hugs button in the side panel in case you’d like to click me some!) Next to coffee, it truly is the best way to start a day! Thanks!

Hi!
Maybe it’s time for me to be a big girl and find a tutorial somewhere…
Thanks for this new room. I jusl love it! The green handcrafted paper is my favorite one. I realy thank you to add a shadow on the bling pin, I’m not able to do it myself.
So if I understand the rule, I must post a new guess if I want Dinning Room to count, I must add another guess. Well, I don’t know the word in english, and can’t find a translator, so I’ll describe the room and hope it will count.
This room is made with glass walls, it’s full of plant and flowers and somtimes there is a fountain it it, a kind of jungle inside a house.

GORGEOUS!!!
TY so very much for another wonderful addition!!!
Neither of my Granny’s did any sewing but being raised on a dairy farm, when we got some feed in the very decorated fabric bags my Mom would take them and make skirts for us than I hated them but now I wish I still had that lovely material!!!!
I’m sticking with my guess for the Kitchen!! LOL

This is absolutely AWESOME – I’m not surprised that it took so long to design, it is so cleverly created, perfectly co-ordinated and of outstanding quality. Thank you for sharing all your superb designs with us all. You are an incredibly talented designer with a warm and generous heart. I do realise that you use much of your precious time in making gifts for us and I truly appreciate your generosity.

I wonder if the next room could be Granny’s Kitchen. I remember my Grandma cooking lovely stews and treacle sponge puddings wrapped in muslin. Oh the happy memories.
Hugs and Blessings.

Just came across this kit; it looks absolutely stunning! As I was reading all of your posts it brought back some wonderful memories for me. I have a beautiful old quilt that my granny made and I often use it to cuddle on the couch while watching TV and sometimes I just use it to feel close to her, she was a wonderful person.
Thank you for sharing your talent and hard work with us and thank you for bringing back many memories and putting a big smile on my face! Hugs

All I can say is WOW! Your creations are beautiful. I just happened upon your blog by chance and am glad I did! I so love nostalgic and antique things. Your My Granny’s series is wonderful. It has made me think of my own long gone grandmother and how wonderful it was as a child to visit her house. Thank you for all your hard work and sharing it. Sorry I have not found you sooner as I can see how lovely the other parts to your My Granny’s…kit is. I will visit regularly now! If it is not too late to guess…how ’bout My Granny’s Parlor?
