Scraps to Style. MyDigiStyle started out as “MyDigiScraps.” I had to change the name to Mydigistyle about 2 months after I made my first post because someone started using “mydigiscraps” in a popular blogging site and started issuing, yup, you guessed it, digital freebies too. I’ve written the person twice but I never did get a response. So instead of waiting for her to think of something to resolve the situation which will be acceptable for both os us, I decided to adopt “style”. Mind you, I posted my first entry 11 days ahead of her and have “registered” the name in all the major freebie sites (except get a free blog – which I didn’t need because I host my own website). She can’t say she doesn’t know or wasn’t made aware. But hey, instead of desisting from using mydigiscraps, she still went on using it unperturbed. I had to do something.
I’ve been receiving emails left and right telling me they got “lost” ending up there in the “other blog” and desperately looking for my stuff. So I had to adopt “style.” But I won’t be dropping “scrap” either as I intend to continue posting under that name in all the freebie sites and in Feedburner too as I wait for her to write me something.
This blog is the DIGITAL side of my traditional scrapbooking site. When I say traditional, I mean the use of actual paper for scrapbooking. I started and maintain a website for and by scrapbookers in Manila, Philippines. Its called myscrapworks. That is where I post “paper stuff” Here is where I post my “digital stuff.”
I am a marketing communications consultant for close to three decades now, servicing multinational FOOD corporations. My services includes events management, graphic design and web development among other things. I am married to a professionalphotographer (all my photos here were taken by him =) and we have very spoiled dogs.
I’m a traditional scrapper for close to a decade now and just have recently ventured to digi-scrapping when my bias against it (that it would feel like work to me) was proven wrong.Believe me, despite having the same tools and doing the same thing, doing digi-scrapping and designing kits is fun even if I end up giving it all away which amazes some of the people who know me. I get paid quote handsomely doing graphic design. But that’s work. Here, its personal. And despite creating quite a sizable hole in my personal funds buying this and that software, this and that plugin all to create wonderful stuff, I do enjoy what I do. Why? Because of the wonderful people I’ve been meeting and the wonderful stories they share.
Welcome to Mydigistyle.
