I scrapped with it! Everything you see is in my kit!
I had fun designing this kit! My first kit! I wasn’t only designing what I wanted to scrap with… I was designing with what others can scrap with and giving them enough room to be creative with my designs! The thought was overwhelming at first until I figured out the secret: ground yourself with the thought that you are creating something for others and giving them joy. (Well, I chose to give them “summer!” LOL – it means laughing out loud dear =)
I just had to scrap with the kit first before posting this! I had to see if it will be easy to scrap with yet versatile enough to give scrappers creative “room” to maneuver. I used the “Spirit of Summer” special sheet (that I’ve given as a token to the special people who posted in this blog – go scrap with it!). I’m happy with how it turned out. All the elements of the kit worked perfectly together! I hope Paten likes this layout. (She’s a photographer, model and an adventurer friend of mine who loves to travel and “escape” to places preferably with lots of water! She’s relentless in badgering me to go with her every time!)
I’m happy with how the ribbons turned out – feminine but “laid-back” – just like Paten! The four ribbons just had enough subtle touches of “being a girl” and having “fun” thrown into the picture. Take your pick: a linen stamped ribbon (this is soooo fab with the bits of paint peeling off!), a cross-hatched, frayed one with a subtle watermark (I love this too ScrapGurl14!), a fun dotted ribbed ribbon (definitely NO patterns and NOT ordinary looking!) and another ribbed one topped with a matching green lace (oh, THIS is for the “girl” in you! And yes, I love it too Donna!). Everything was painstakingly made with as much attention to detail as I can afford to give.
The torn piece of craft paper with a matching paper clip was thrown in to give you something for your journaling. I distressed, stamped and inked that torn parchment myself and had a blast! (LOL!) The flower, minus the text rub-ons which I gifted exclusively to those who posted earlier, was also added to the set. It was the foam-stamped ferns however that really took some time to finish because I not only had to make sure that the outline is distinct but distressed and a bit “invisible” to let your images show through the stamp. Just tinker with the “opacity” and you’ll see how versatile the ferns are. Don’t be fooled that they look, uhm, “simple” — it’s often the “simple” ones you’ll really get to use over and over again in ANY layout. (I’m speaking from experience.)
I also didn’t include the alpha rub-ons to this set as originally planned. They didn’t turn out right as I wanted. I was hoping to redo it but I had to start preparing for an out of town trip early this week. I have no idea if there would be a 3G signal in the area to allow me to connect to the net so I had to rush up and finish the “pack” before I leave. Will this be the end of the Goodbye to Summer Kit? Is this the final “set?” I HAVE NO IDEA. Let me think about it for the next couple of days if it is “complete” and I’m already done with it or if there is something else I need to add to make it so. Besides I will be going to a place where there’s plenty of water to inspire me! Let’s see if the sea can inspire me with something fresh! For now, enjoy this set!
Finally, from now on, I will be compressing everything in ZIP to enable those who have no WinRAR to open the files. It might be a few kb or mb’s bigger but hey, everybody will be able to download from hereon (right Amanda?) and I don’t have to do two compressions anymore!
All my files are download sensitive. They expire after a set number of downloads. Download when you can. Thank you all for the emails, the feedback and the support. This set is “dedicated” to ScarletHeels and Melanie (you can call me anything you want Hon…) for “teaching” me how it is to create and to simply share – just because. Those two women rock! Go check out their “fantabulous” freebies (Don’t forget to post your thanks ok?)
If you like my work the best compliment you can give me is to scrap with my kit and to send me a link or an email so I can see! (And if you do post your layout somewhere, please don’t forget to point them here ok?) The next best thing? Just post a word or two. That’s enough reward for me for the hours I’ve spent doing everything. We can call it even! Enjoy! Have a great week ahead!

Ack! Sorry, I haven’t been to your blog lately. I’m not trying to ignore you (I would never do that). I’m revamping my website and what a pain in the arse it is.
I should be done by this weekend and I will catch up on all of your entries and, hopefully, still be able to download this gorgeous freebie!!! (((((HUGS)))))
