As promised, here’s another Island Girl sampler for you to enjoy… Click the image for a more detailed view. This release makes TWO! Download the first sampler if you still haven’t downloaded yet. And please, IF YOU DOWNLOAD, please leave a comment. The word “thanks” would suffice to the hours I spend designing.
I promised in my last blog post that whatever freebies I will issue will ALWAYS come from the same kit I will sell, right? Well, this time, I did better. I included some stuff in this Sampler Kit that’s not even in any of the four sets… I wanted to thank those who continuously drop by and visit this blog daily. More so, the people who take the time to post a line or two or even email me a few words…. (The five percent is growing! LOL! You see, only 5% of those who download do post something! LOL!)
Let this be my way of thanking you (I don’t know of any other way!) for making me feel “special.” I assure you that every freebie will always be of the same highly-detailed quality you have come to know me for.
Because of the sales of the Island Girl line, I was able to buy some commercial stuff to help me design better freebies. I used the software I was able to buy two days ago in making some elements for this release. I hope you will be able to detect the subtle changes and will be as happy as I am that I now have better “tools” to make more wonderful stuff for you!
By the way, SunPorch just expired. Sorry. Two links expiring soon! Go check what you still don’t have and download everything fast!
+++++++++++++++
To the regular visitors of this blog whom I call “friends”….
Let me pour my heart out.
I’ve been asked continuously why I limited my sale of Island Girl to just 18. Why? In all honesty I was only expecting 4 people to buy my kit. I was so sure that only four would want it.
I didn’t want to be disappointed by expecting a bigger number so even before I started selling Island Girl (my first kit for sale) I already conditioned myself that I WON’T sell much. I am NOT being modest. I am merely stating a fact that I am aware my kits are NOT mainstream – meaning they are NOT commercial. I’ve been told as much by two sellers who found my kits “lovely BUT…” you know… they don’t think it’ll sell. It wasn’t that “cute” enough I guess… LOL!
No. I wasn’t disheartened. I wasn’t anything. I believed it and accepted it as the truth because I visit digital scrapping online stores and check out their top selling kits. I can see that mine looks so different. VERY. So I was ready to see Island Girl go to four people. That was a fact I was ready to accept. Four was fine for my ego! I was ready… LOL!
Didn’t I ever “hope” to sell more? Oh, goodness! I did! That is precisely the reason why I said 18 instead of 4. I really wished that I will be able to buy the software I wanted to make some freshly-styled designs without shelling my own money this time. 18 was my super-optimistic number so I can buy me some stuff!
In less than 10 hours I have received 18 download requests for PayPal invoicing. However, 6 invoices out of the 18 I immediately sent, didn’t get “processed” right away. It was taking quite a while for six people to answer back and it was “holding up” the line of the scrappers waiting for the confirmation of their download requests. The “line” wasn’t moving!
I figured the six might have found my TOU not acceptable – the pessimist in me was starting to kick in you see – so rather than hold up the line, I issued 6 more. I ended up selling 23 in less than 48 hours with just one remaining to be “processed” by PayPal as I post this. Everyone who asked to be billed via PayPal did buy my line. (For those who are new to my blog, I sell my work per design line not by kits. Each design line is composed of 3 or more “kits” or sets.)
I was doing everything “manually” – emailing back the download request link, processing the invoices via PayPal, awaiting PayPal’s clearance and emailing back the download links. That was on top of the 40+ emails I receive daily just from the site alone (I read each one and answer some) while designing the fourth and final set.
Whew. I didn’t expect the “selling” to be that “tough” on my already tight schedule! Don’t get me wrong! I am NOT complaining! In fact those who have been emailing about their purchases have all been very patient! Considering the time difference between me and 90%+ of the visitors of this blog (you are asleep by the time I start working and I sleep by the time you are already awake), it was quite a feat that I never received any complaints (probably because you have all been soooooo kind!) LOL!
The thing is this: I have received about 42+ emails to date requesting to STILL buy the kit beyond cut-off. About 12 of those have really been so nice requesting they really want to scrap with Island Girl for some of their special vacation photos. About 20+ of those are disappointed. A handful are sad that they weren’t able to meet the cut-off and 2 of those are really angry… (OK Lily…You were right! You are ALWAYS right! LOL!)
Quite a unique dilemma for someone who just sold her first “design line” right? (((hugggssss!)))
I’ve had sleepless nights over this. Seriously. Really. Both my mom and my husband (my private cheering squad) have told me to just extend the sale for a few more days to accommodate those who missed my sale — most specially those who have just visited my blog for the first time. Because of this, I decided to extend the sale of the Island Girl line until November 5 after which, the Island Girl line will be “carried” by another commercial site and sold PER SET.
Commercial site?!? As I was testing the download links to the fourth set, I have received an invitation to “open a seller’s account” in a huge site. (Things DO fall into place, Lily! And I haven’t changed the way I design!) I decided to take their offer — but more on this on the next blog post with yet another Island Girl Freebie ok? Another freebie I made just for the visitors of this blog. You all have “opened” doors for me.
To those who purchased the Island Girl line, make sure you download the two Sampler Sets. The Samplers contain some unique files NOT found in any of the Sets given to you. The second Sampler Kit for instance, contains some sheets NOT found in the fourth set.
To those who purchased Island Girl, thank you! I tried to best myself with the last set. It took me quite sometime to translate the experiences I had in Marinduque – the sights, sounds, taste and wonder of it all — into design elements. The ones that would ring “true” to my experiences anyway. This fourth set really took much out of me. I was literally in pins and needles. You all bought the kit without seeing the fourth set, trusting my skills with your money… (I am deeply honored…) So here it is ladies… the fourth and final set of the Island Girl Design Line. I call it
Simple Tresures (because the ones that are really precious can sometimes look soo “ordinary”) In case you are interested, the first three sets of Island Girl are as follows:

Thanks for the latest freebie. Your attention to detail is amazing and I love this design line of yours. Keep in mind that not everyone is looking for the same type of designer, so you offer something unique that a lot of people are interested in. I hope you grow in confidence as a designer and that you have much success!

Ok, so I’m still sitting here with my mouth hanging open. I swear, every time I see your designs, I just sit and stare at them in awe. You mention the detail and time you put into them… believe me, it is very evident. They just SCREAM quality. I would consider it a compliment to be told I’m not commercial or mainstream… you stick out of the crowd and impress the heck out of me!
DON’T CHANGE!

Congrats on overselling your first line & snagging a store to boot! I can’t believe stores would say your stuff wouldnt sell! The gall of them. Well you certainly proved them wrong here. Your designs are out of this galaxy & the detail you put in each item is truly amazing & far surpasses so many of the ‘commercial’ kits on the market. Being fairly new to scrapping, your designs intimidate me lol I feel I can’t do them justice if I used them. But they are so amazing to look at & the stories you have behind each lil thing is wonderful & connects you to your fans in a way that so many others lack. Again congrats to you & much continued success.

I am so excited for you. I cannot imagine anyone saying your sets were not saleable. I, for one, don’t really go in for all that cutsie stuff. I find that yours are much more in line of what I am looking for. Thanks for all you do.

Mabelle, you have outdid your self!!! I had complete faith in your skill and quality when I purchased this line even without knowing what the 4th set would be. I knew it would be great and high quality (like all your creations), but I never dreamed it would be THIS FANTASTIC. It is the crowning touch to an already gorgeous line. I love it to pieces. Please don’t become commercial, cutsie, or “mainstream”, we already have enough of that out there on the market. Like a true artist, you put a part of yourself into every piece of this kit and it shows. Your love for your subject, your attention to detail, and your talent all shine out of your work like a beacon.
Thank you
Hugs

The only time I go for “cutiesy” is when I’m doing something for my grandchildren. Your uniqueness is exactly why I love your designs. Have you ever noticed that when a designer comes up with a new concept soon other designers are climbing on the bandwagon to duplicate the same designs. Don’t change….keep bringing us your uniqueness. Thank you for sharing you with us.

Ladies!
I know you travel the ‘net’ often. All good scrappers do. We see “freebie” sites every day – and it seems that there are endless offerings. That is why most are “addicted” – all you want is out there for the taking. But youh ave to admit – honestly – most of it you may never use. What we find on MaBelle’s site is incredible. So much work and detail. But more important – we find her heart here. She gives hours and hours; even falling asleep at her desk. But no one does that just to offer a “freebie”. They do it because they love what they do and who the are doing it for. I don’t know where else to POST this – but MaBella, THANK YOU! Your site has become a gathering, and all of us want to just embrace you, and thank you for the gifts and love you have so freely given to us. {{{HUGS}}}

Okay,
Testing here! I’ve been trying to send comments for quite sometime and I keep getting spam messages. I think I finally figured out that I needed to paste some characters in first. Thanks for your lovely stuff — I’m glad things are turning out better than expected. Hugs and have a happy day!
