Beware the Ides of March. I always found it bewildering how a month can herald such doom and gloom. Why not October – its Halloween Month (!) or November for its All Soul’s Day or Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)? Why March?
Shakespeare had some ideas about picking March. And boy did he communicate the idea extraordinarily well with the assassination of a great historical figure planned and carried out by his trusted friends.
I started having thoughts about this thing when two years ago, I stopped blogging here.
I had too much going on in my life then. A year later, still on the month of March, I seriously tried to resume back where I left off but the “migration” of this blog away from the domain www.myscrapworks.com (a website for traditional paper scrapping) took much time and hair-pulling from my end. I ended up spending close to US$400 just to be able to bring this blog to its proper domain – for digital scrapbooking.
That left me all out of energy and money to continue.Last month, I decided I want to start again after 24 months of blogging hiatus. And what do you know? The database that maintains this blog not only crashed but was completely erased. Never has that happened before in all the 12 years I have been working on the net!
So I again had to hire the services of someone (a great guy from Germany) to restore everything from the “grave.” And now here I am.
What’s with March? I have no idea. But why some people would choose to think it heralds doom and gloom, payback time and everything nasty, my efforts of starting over seems to point to me that I have opted to make it a month to start-over again and again and again.
Am I a bit wiser 24 months after… I believe so. Am I tougher? Nah. I still break easily (LOL!) but I define strength not by being able to overcome what strikes me down but by being able to keep rising up again and learning from the experience. Am I going to start creating digital stuff again. Yup. But as always share the stories that go with each piece…
Glad to be home after 24 months. While I hope I’m not coming home to an “empty” blog devoid of great friends I made along the way there’s always the thought of making new ones… or simply blogging into thin air – blogging for blogging’s sake. Hellooooo? Is anybody home?
I am.

Mabelle! I kept waiting anxiously, worried that something was terribly, horribly wrong, and kept checking back, even doing periodic searches for you on the web, thinking I’d find you somehow.
