My Cutie and My Sweetie

I’ve been blessed with a sister who is both a cutie and a sweetie. This freebie is about her.

I’m older than sister by 2 years. Aside from my mom, she was one of the reasons I kept on pushing myself to excel academically. She had it easy. She was born with a sponge-like brain that enabled her to clinch academic scholarships left and right and finish two college degrees in schools I wanted to get into but failed to enter. She has masters degree in business, a medical degree, a fellowship and she had further specialization studies in the USA and Germany including facial reconstructive surgery!

During our last conversation, she was planning to say yes (again!) to another scholarship offer to take up further medical studies outside the country to which I said “enough!” since she was juggling a whole lot more plates than I am doing these days. When I am busy, its because I have a lot of computer work to do. When she says she’s busy, that means surgery and saving a lot of lives. She has an open pretty-mischievous face with big black eyes and a lop-sided grin that as a “package” could melt your heart instantly. I hated her growing up. Haha! But ended up loving her completely for you can’t help yourself but do.

I don’t just make freebies. Every digital “file” I make carries my thoughts. It almost, always reflects what I am feeling. When I share my work, I don’t just share “files” – I share a bit of me too – but you ladies know that already and I hope you can see it in the fine little details I focus on in everything I share. Every piece is lovingly made.  There are some however who don’t know this or are not aware. I just wanted to stress the fact that responding, commenting or simply typing a word or two in response to my work or my post MEAN THE WORLD TO ME. You may not have seen me reply in this blog (and I may not have been responding to the TONS of emails sent my way YET for I would like to respond in a lengthier manner than a few sentences) B-U-T I do read every single word and line. I TREASURE everything. EVERYTHING – I can’t stress it enough!

Hence, I am sending the download password to a second “matching” QP to those who have commented in my previous post – the Sweetie QP. Think of it as a “gift” for taking a few seconds off and posting something nice that made me smile and keeps me from posting/making more freebies. The people who commented in the previous post made me do the QPs. Its because of them that I made the two pages. If you have the Cutie QP, thank the ladies who commented in the previous post instead of me for it.

I am about to end CrossroadsII with a mini kit soon. But before I do, I sure would like to see you post a link to your layout using the cutie/sweetie QPs or even the Fly QP (all the download links from the last two posts are still active and will be for a few more days!)     WOW…another wonderful post and the quickpages are too cute. It’s funny that you picked Cutie and Sweetie….my hubby calls me Sweetie and I call him Cutie….

    Thank you for this wonderful gift today…..shelby is having surgery today for her tonsils and I needed a thoughtful moment before leaving for the hospital.

I loved reading about your two sisters and their unique relationships with you — both very different, both very special.     It was so cool to learn about your sister (what an amazing person, just like you) and your sister of the heart. Sounds like all three of you got the best of the deal.

    I had already taken the left brain, right brain test and the results will be posted on my blog in a couple of weeks (I’m trying to stay ahead of the game with my blog now, LOL). And I am 68% ….. Left brain. No artsy talent here :)

    Thank you so much for your reflections on sisters and friends. The one thing that I always emphasize with my kids is that siblings are your forever friends. People are always amazed at how they take care of each other and love each other. So glad you became friends with your sister.

    Thanks for the wonderful post and the great gift, I just love Crossroads! My GD is my Sweetie Peach and my cutie Pie and she just giggles every time I call her either one. Makes my heart just jump for joy!     I’m catching up on e-mail after having been involved in a book festival last weekend and I am so glad this was still available! Thank you. I love how you love your sister and friend and totally understand their importance in your life. I am blessed with the people in my life, too!

    As for the direction in which you should go–anything you create is lovely, Mabelle, and we are fortunate that you are so generous. Personally, my favorites, however, are your more vintage series and those are the ones I turn to over and over.

    I am so happy that you are posting regularly again, at least for now. While you were gone, and I was re-reading your older blog posts, I went and started a new blog on WordPress, but I think I must need to be a “paying customer”? Because I have little control over how my blog looks. Pitiful. Since I’ve already got my domain (and it’s just parked at the moment), I am wondering whether to go for a site again (which will take me a lot of time), or pay for a better blog with WordPress. I love the ways you change yours. So if you can comment on the whole WordPress thing, that’d be great… because I am guessing I am not the only one who has these sorts of wonderings going on in our heads…

    Whatever you choose to design will be great with me. So, maybe this means I can now FINALLY get the Crossroads Sets 1 and 2 that I have wanted for so long???? :)
