Ladies, we’ve got to STOP this “crying” cycle! I post, you cry. You post, I cry! LOL! Your posts have all been lovely and what you all have shared touches me deeply. For those of you who have not yet read all the comments, I suggest you do so now most specially the comments in the last four posts. Spend time reading everything. It’ll be worth your while. NEVER have I seen digi-scrappers share so much of themselves in their posts. I feel humbled that you chose to do so in my blog. I ended up crying my eyes out after reading though everything (the last “crying episode” was when I read Paula’s post. She made me “remember” something. *hugs* ).
Each time someone tells me they are inspired by what I have created, I feel blessed. Some however have blessed me twice for saying my work has helped them remember someone they lost. A handful have emailed/posted that my work is healing… that one about “healing”… that one most specially, left me speechless. I was at a loss for words… How can someone who simply designs kits respond to something so beautiful? I can’t.
…so I did the next best thing – I made a special kit to thank you all for everything.
I’m giving you a special “Granny” pack called “Because You Remember” (No, it’s not a “room”) — all 64 MB of it! — and a promise that we will all spend Christmas at My Granny’s Place! So please… (LOL) help me “rest Granny” for a while… Island Girl is antsy and my eyes are really tired from all the crying (LOL)….
Thank you all for sharing… This kit is to thank you back “because you remember”…

I didn’t know. Ladies, please tell me what free service I am using offends you and I won’t use it ever again. I have no idea! Perhaps it is because I have a pop-up blocker? Could you email me more about this? The free file hosting sites used by most scrappers have “trackers” or “bugs” which monitors your every move on the net. This is the reason why I have adamantly refused to use their services and have tried to explore others. The ones I am using now are faster and with no “trackers.” I figured everything was fine until I read Jaline’s post. Here’s my response.
Dear Jaline,
I am so sorry with the popups. It is controlled by the free web server hosting site. I have no control over it. I was NOT aware that it is displaying OFFENSIVE materials. Could you tell me what it is so I will not use their service again? Also, I suggest you have a POP-UP BLOCKER in your browser so it will no longer bother you.
This is the first time someone ever told me about it… I am sorry to hear about it. Thank you for telling me.
Jaline wrote to me that it is not offensive but excessive ads. Too many of them in fact before the download link is presented. I’m so sorry ladies… I promise that if and when we can afford a “hosted” site where all the freebies will come from my very own servers, I will let you know. This is the reason I am exploring the possibility of selling some of my work and a handful even for commercial purposes — so I can host everything and you will be free from all those ads.
At this point however, my freebie hosted files are close to 1G and the download traffic is hitting 100G for not even a month! That server requirement is priced somewhere in the vicinity of $35 a month. Whew. Let’s see how this will work out. Bear with me. I call this “growing pains” and it is a sign we are “building” a different “community” of scrappers…
By the way, we are officially a site: www.mydigistyle.com. Cheers!

To those who are linking back to this blog via the blinkie (not a “paste” but a “link back” via the code I provided found in the About Page)… post your blog address/email and I will send you the PASSWORD to my “gift kit” Urban Decay (it’s password protected!) to thank you for doing so. I’ve been wanting to try my hand on grunge-without-restraint (LOL). I wanted to see if I can come up with something totally “dirty” but scrapable. (LOL). Think of this as a “break” — still a time intensive one for me though… Tell me what you think, ok? Think of this as a reprieve from all the crying over “Granny!” LOL!
Tip: This is a great kit to use with photos showing someone “grubby, dirty” like smeared with ink, paint, chocolate or ice cream! City shots would work just as great. You can also use it with ANY black and white photo as the papers can be overpowering. If all else fails, it’s the great grungy alpha set thats foam-stamped and distressed that would be useful in any fun or “modern” layout! Go link up the blinkie and download this freebie!

I downloaded this kit this morning, and immediately scrapped a page of my parents. All of my Grandparents had died before I was born, but in my imagination I reconstruct what it would be like to visit Grandma and Grandpa… I can only try to make my home a place that my grandchildren will love to come to, and remember fondly when they have children of their own. I only wish that I had found your site in time to get the other Granny rooms….they are gorgeous! I look forward to seeing what you do next. You are truly talented.

Thank you so much for the lovely papers. I really enjoy your work.

May I get the password… the kit is awesome.

MaBelle, thank you, as always. This is one stop I try not to miss every single day. But about your costs. Some of the other designer/bloggers are going to a “membership” scheme. Your members pay a fee (most are about $6 for 3 months) and they get a password to download. You do so much great work – and you have such a loyal following right now – I am sure that there are ladies out there who would not think this was too much. And we, in turn, could be helping you!. Think about it!

I came across your site a few months ago through a link on another site then I lost it. I downloaded the Reading Room at the time with the intent of returning and I couldn’t find you.
I want to thank you for your generous kits. They are very different with a unique sentiment that I could not resist.
Your talent matches your generosity and that is amazing. The beauty and elegance diplays the love you put into the designs.
Thank you so very much for sharing.
P.S. It took me awhile to figure out your site wich shows up my limited knowledge. I put you in my favorites and will check back once in a while to see what you come up with next.
Thank you again,
Betty

No tears today, just a big smile. Thank you so much for this fabulous addition to Granny’s Place!
And now I am looking forward to Island Girl; I can’t imagine what you have in store for us.
((hugs))

Okay, no tears or sniffles this time only a big smile in appreciation for the lovely gift. Thank you. I just love that jeweled heart, it looks so realistic the way the light seems to bounce off it yet shine through it. Great job on it, but then everything you have done is exceptional.

I for one do not have any problem at all with the sites you have chosen to send your kits through. If a popup manages to get past my popup blocker, I just close it and keep going. And it has never displayed offensive ads. In fact the site you prefer to use gives me a lot less headache than the site many other designers use to give out their freebies.
There is always a few people who are never satisfied, no matter what you do. I think they like to hear themselves complain. LOL So go with the majority and keep doing what is the easiest for you, after all, these lovely gifts are free and no one has the right to complain how you give them away. (I would jump through lots of hoops to get them, so you will never hear me complain)
Lots of hugs to you…looking forward to the island girl

thanks again. I’m a little sad…
Don’t matter! I’m liberate and feel so much better about her, that’s all that count.

Dear Mabelle, I will thank you very much for this great, wonderful and beautiful gift. Have read that some have problem with downloading, I´ve never had any problem with downloading from your site. Sometimes there is a pop-up window but I just close that window and go on and download. (sorry for my english, is not my primary language)
October 26, 2007 11:14 pm
Sincere thanks for the wonderfully huge kit you’ve given us!
When my doctor revealed to me recently that I have a slightly enlarged heart, I didn’t dare dare tell him it was probably due to the love that’s given over the internet!
