I love Sun Porch and I wasn’t expecting many to love it the way I did — it had almost no touch of tapestry so I wasn’t expecting as much enthusiastic response to it like say, The Sewing Room or the Colors at Dusk lines. Apparently, I was mistaken. You did love it… and you love it as much as I do! Because of the great comments posted… Because of the memories you shared and the gratitude you’ve shown (being on the receiving end of it was truly awesome!) here’s a small parting gift from “Granny” so you can scrap pages for people you miss much — be it your grandmothers, your dear ones.. or anyone who left a big hole in your heart. If I only knew that doing freebies would be this rewarding I would have done it a looooong time ago and I would have “met” you all sooner.
This one is lovingly dedicated to all those who posted comments below most specially to Sharon, KDA, Indy, LynnD, B2, Cefalu, Rarole. Elaine, RLH, Grammy201, Tink, Paula, Barbwire, Lily and Georgene and her wonderful post that made me feel 10 feet tall. These are the people who made my cry good tears as I was reading through all the posts – Lily always had the knack to say just the right words at the right moment (I wish I can hug you back from across the miles!) while Sharon never fails to make me laugh!
I doubt if those of you who posted back have an idea of how much your words have made me forget the sleepless nights, the long computer hours, the doodling and the planning that went into making the Sun Porch kit (Its always a detailed process each time I plan a line — like this coming one I call Island Girl and its 134MB HUGE just for the 1st set!) I forgot everything when I read your posts below. Thank you for making me feel wonderful… and blessed. Thank you for taking the time to post back so I will get to know you more. This one is for ALL of you – I’ve done this to thank you back for the wonderful words you posted here. I know my Grannies would have asked me to. My deepest thanks. Have a great week ahead! Enjoy! Ahhhh. Shucks, now you got me all misty eyed here. *sniff sniff* All this emotional talk and then this absolutely gorgeous and touching tag for us has got me all choked up.
No designer has ever touched that emotional chord for me with her work as yours has. This tag is perfect to express the feelings of loss I have for my Aunt Shirley, who passed away from lymphoma two years and 4 days ago. It feels more like the 4 days rather than the two years though.
When I look at these kits, I can actually feel the love you had for your beloved Grannies. You have infused every piece with that love. I am glad you are willing to share that love by sharing the kits you so carefully create.
People like you make this a better world, and hopefully all of us more caring loving people.
Thanks for being you,
Hugs
Barb

I am having trouble downloading the tag though….I haven’t had trouble before with the rest of the kit…..advice?

I’m very sorry that I have to leave the download area as quickly as I can. Which means I will no longer be able to downloads your wonderful freebies. You do such marvelous work, it’s too bad. Thank you and love going your way.

Thank you so much for all the time and hard work you put into this awesome kit, and for sharing it with all of us! I was born on my grandma’s birthday–our birthstone is ruby. When I graduated, my mom gave me a special gift from my grandma (even though she had been gone for many years): my grandma’s ruby ring. I wear it on special occasions. Last night was my daughter’s first color guard competition. Thanks so much to you and this beautiful gift of yours! As soon as I saw the red heart it reminded me to wear my ring. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was really young when my grand mother passed away; the one memory I have of her is sitting in her lap. I’m so thankful for that memory. The other part of this special tag set reminds me of the Christmas and birthday cards I received from my other grandma (she lived far away). <3

Thank you so much for once again sharing your talent with us. Except you don’t just share your talent – you share your heart, and that is what sets you apart and what makes your work so much more beautiful.
Your grandmothers would have been so proud of you and I am sure they are smiling in heaven.

Oh, my goodness, hon, I never expected to be named in a post! I am blown away again by your beautiful work. I agree with others, you have a gift from God, and it’s so lovely to have you share it with us. I hope one day to meet you, and I know I will… though it may not be in this world, surely in the next. We will have a tea party with our grannies, together! Love and hugs, always, Elaine

Beautiful!!!!!!!!!!
October 22, 2007 8:54 am
Thankyou so much for this fabulous tag….and for the whole Granny set.
I never knew my Grannies, both died before I was born, so never knew what it was like to have a Grandma.
This tag and your words touched my heart through the “anyone who left a big hole in your heart”
That would be the man that was my best friend, my soulmate, my dream come true….and whom I lost at the beginning of this year. Thankyou for your gracious talent with both words and design.
October 22, 2007 9:21 am
This reminded me of my dear sweet Aunt Betty that passed away in 2005! What a thoughtful and kind person you are! You are also very talented!
Thanks for this gift!

Life is hard, no doubt. I changed my life venue to care for my own mom, now 86, who’s about 60 per-cent sharp and 40 in the dementia stage. Frankly, it’s difficult to like her all the time and yet I love her so. Accusations are beginning to arise from her paranoia that I gave up nothing so I could have her everything and it hurts so deeply. Each day I place a situation or more in God’s Hands but am sometimes unable to leave it there. Anyway, to the point, thank you for this beautiful, beautiful tag; you are so wonderful and have through your original gift have touched so many others and me.
God bless you!

Thanks so much for the new goodie!

Thank you for the great kit and the additions. I have very fond memories of sitting on my Grandma’s porch in Iowa on the big swing.
October 23, 2007 7:55 am
Another, just stunning work. Thank you so much.
October 24, 2007 11:56 am
Thank you.
I feel I’m not ready yet to scrap my grand mother. She was close to my heart and she’s gone too fast AND too slow at the same time. When I’ll be ready, I’ll use granny’s kit for sure.
